Last week in Canberra, Maria Vamvakinou MP, the Federal Member for Calwell raised the Autoliv Job losses in Parliament.
“Autoliv is Australia’s largest manufacturer of seatbelts and airbags and it is devastating that the Campbellfield factory has been forced to cut more than half its 900 strong workforce, in order to remain viable in the face of price competition from overseas suppliers.” said Ms Vamvakinou.

Today in the House of Representatives, Maria Vamvakinou MP, the Federal Member for Calwell moved an amendment, on behalf of the Labor Party, to the Migration (Detention Arrangements) Bill 2005 in the hope of getting a better deal for Temporary Protection VISA and Temporary Humanitarian VISA holders.
Tomorrow Maria Vamvakinou MP, the Federal Member for Calwell, will present two students from the Calwell Electorate the Australian Students Prize for 2004. “Today’s announcement that automotive parts manufacturer Kozma Industries in Campbellfield will be slashing jobs is another devastating blow to local workers and there families.” said Maria Vamvakinou.
