Maria Vamvakinou MP is getting behind the local community in support of this year's 'Ask Your Pharmacist Week', 25-30 September.

“I fully support renewed calls for a formal investigation into the high cost of petrol price in Australia” Ms Vamvakinou said.

“I think it’s fair to say that consumers are being robbed blind by the large oil companies. In effect, millions of Australians are paying to line the pockets of big oil companies that record multi-million dollar profits year in and year out.”

Maria Vamvakinou MP supports the community campaign to have Tullamarine Cleanaway Waste Dump closed.

Maria Vamvakinou attended last nights public meeting of the Terminate Tulla Toxic Dump Action Group last night, held in Gladstone Park. Maria Vamvakinou has been a long time supporter of community calls to have the Tullamarine Tip closed given the potential health risks and dangers it poses to the local community.

“I want to warmly congratulate all those VCE students living in Calwell who successfully gained entry into university during first round offers earlier this week” Ms Vamvakinou said.

“Both their families and the local community are no doubt very proud of their achievements.”

Howard’s Comments Targeting Australia’s Muslim Community Leaders are both Divisive and Wrong

The Prime Minister’s suggestion in The Australian today that moderate leaders in Australia’s Muslim communities are “pussyfooting around” by failing to renounce terrorism, is grossly misleading and contrary to fact.
