“Our local schools are a wonderful place for our children to learn effective literacy and numeracy skills.” said Ms Vamvakinou.

“Literacy and numeracy are crucial if we want to instil a love of reading and mathematics in our kids. It is critical that they understand the creative and imaginative power of reading and numbers.” said Ms Vamvakinou.
To celebrate the National Literacy & Numeracy Week Maria will be taking part in the National Simultaneous Storytime, where she will read the children's book Wombat Stew to young people at the Craigieburn Library on Friday 2 September 2005 at 11.00am.
