In response to ongoing community calls for a new government Secondary School to be built in Greenvale, Maria Vamvakinou MP stated today:

“It is clear that the population growth rates of Greenvale and its surrounding area mean that more schools need to be built if we are to address the ongoing educational needs of our local school children.”

“There is no doubt in my mind that the Greenvale progress association is both extremely committed and extremely determined to convince the state government that a secondary school in Greenvale is not only viable, but also urgently needed.”

“I agree with the association’s president, Mr Charlie Grech, that the amalgamation of Hillcrest and Erinbank secondary collages into the New Broadmeadows Super Collage further enhances the viability of building a new government Secondary Collage in Greenvale.”

“The amalgamation of the two schools provides the state government with a good opportunity to revisit the prospect of a new Secondary Collage being built in Greenvale, one capable of delivering quality education to our local schoolchildren.”

“Given the meetings that the Greenvale progress association has had with the Department of Education and Training, it appears that the state government is doing just that. It is a positive sign, and I support the community in its continued efforts to see a new quality school being built in our area and for our local children.”
