Expression of interest for the 2018 Volunteer Grants in now open. If you are a local service organisation or community group helping disadvantaged communities in Calwell, a Volunteer Grant can provide small amounts of money to support the volunteers. Grants between $1000 - $5000 are available to help non-for-profit community organisations or groups, to support their volunteers through practical measures. Activities funded by the Grant include to:
- purchase eligible small equipment items for use by volunteers
- contribute to volunteers' fuel costs
- contribute to transport costs for volunteers with disability who are unable to drive
- assist with the costs of training courses
- undertake background screening checks for volunteers
To be eligible for funding for a Volunteer Grant, applicants must be an Australian non-for-profit organisation or community group whose volunteers' work supports families and/or communities in Australia.
