“Today’s announcement that automotive parts manufacturer Kozma Industries in Campbellfield will be slashing jobs is another devastating blow to local workers and there families.” said Maria Vamvakinou.

“I want to express my absolute disappointment at this announcement, which comes on the back of 500 workers loosing there jobs at Autoliv also in Campbellfield.” said Maria Vamvakinou.

“This has been a shocking year for the automotive components industry with a disturbing number of job losses. On top of the losses at Kozma and Autoliv, we have seen Thomastown manufacturer VOA Webco cutting 55 workers, Tryco in Springvale cutting 160 jobs and Calsonic in Port Melbourne slashing 170 jobs. At the same time as these jobs are being exported overseas, the Howard Government is sitting on its hands doing nothing.” said Maria Vamvakinou.

"Its an absolute disgrace." said Mrs Vamvakinou, "… these Aussie battlers have children to feed and mortgages to pay."

“Today I will be joining workers on the picket line at Kozma Industries to offer them my support and to see if there is anything I can do to help.” said Maria Vamvakinou.
